A design begins as a sketch, then a wax model, carved by hand to test proportion and scale before a single gram of metal is cast. Once cast, the piece is filed, polished, and prepared to receive its stones - each one set individually, by hand, under magnification.
The final polish can take as long as the setting itself. It is this unhurried, layered process - not any single step - that separates a considered piece of jewellery from one simply assembled.
